I got a Canon Innova Laptop that wont boot. The bios recognizes the HDD but upon bootup it comes "no operating system found".
Using a boot disk, it will still not boot. Using a Partition Magic boot disk, it starts the program, then stalls just before it shows the details. So, is this a dead hard drive or could it be the motherboard?? |

Have you tried booting to a boot disk with the HDD out of the system?
If it boots ok that way, then you have the answer...Bad HDD. If it won't, the it's time for a M/B. |

actually before you replace the MB, you might want to reseat the mem first and try again.
Make sure all the screws are tight as well. ------------------ hey its me again!

Reseat the RAM and the processor, but it sounds like MoBo to me....Also, remove any Peripheals or PCMIA cards before you boot.
