[RESOLVED] Gateway 9300, Memory upgrade, W2000, BSOD

Hi!

The company I work for orders Gateway 9300s with Windows 2000 Professional. They have been great EXCEPT when you go to upgrade the memory instead of what you expect, it blue screens. Gateway doesn't have a real fix for it except to re-install 2000 and choose repair. That doesn't always work and when it does you have to reconfigure some of the settings.

They say they are working on the problem, but so far nothing.

It also happens on the desktops. We have tried all different memory, including using exactly what they came with out of another system. We have tried reloading the PC's with the restore CD. We have tried loading just W2000 alone.

They had originally told us the paging file wasn't being updated and to set it to double the installed memory BEFORE upgrading. This didn't work.

Any of you have ANY ideas?
