Question Notebook Computer?

I recently purchased a laptop and am having no luck finding info on it online. All I got was the laptop, charge unit, and a carrying case.

BIOS Info: AMIBIOS 1992
51-1995-083100-00101111-060692-Ver1.04

The only Label or name on it anywhere is on the bottom and it says....

Notebook Computer
FCC ID: FMA7600 Vfg. 243/1991

SERIAL NO D541ND00728-0

Pentuim but i dont know what mhz yet.
16 megs of ram
700+ meg Harddrive on the side.
VGA screen (maybe better, havent tried to update drivers yet).
Built in sound(ESS AudioDrive 4.12.01 drivers).
No cd-rom, just a floppy on the side.
There is a trackball below the keyboard.
Also it came with a PCMCIA II 14.4 modemcard in one of the two PCMCIA slots.

Thanks for any help.

Oh and I'm not sure if this will help but the charge unit is a PROTON SPN-230 (Dec 95).

In doing a search by fcc# it came back as built by Nan Tan Computer Co. of Tiwain. Now known as Clevo. They built many laptops for different companies which are now out of business. Sorry I could not be more help.

Wink

Thanks for your ideas.
I did some more research and found several different possible manufacturers.
I really just want to know what speed mhz I have. I would like to get an external cd-rom for it or maybe a zip drive. Also I was considering trying to get win 95 intalled...either upgrade or full.

Thanks again for your help! º¿º

Well it is a Pentium with 16mb ram - Windows 95/98 will install fine. I would reccomend 98 as it has native support for more hardware. That laptop sounds like a generic laptop made to be labeled and sent out as any of 500 different companies laptop.

Check the utility page of the Windrovers site and see if the diagnostics there help.

if all you want are the hardware specs try running an app like cpuinfo.exe from the Intel site and an something like SiSoft Sandra for the rest.
