Question Toshiba Tecra 520CDT - new HDD??

Hi all,

A client has asked me to upgrade his Tecra 520. It currently has a Toshiba 2GB hard disk and he wants something bigger.
I have looked at the Toshiba website and it appears that this laptop only supports two hard disks:
2GB and 3.8GB both built by Toshiba.
Is this true or can any hard disk be used - e.g. an 8GB non-Tosh' drive.
(I cannot find any way of setting the hard disks up in the BIOS - you can only choose standard or eide).
Any help would be great - thanks in advance.
Simon

The BIOS on my 510 detected a 4 gig fine (the largest I had at the time. It should work well with up to an 8 gig and maybe (with a BIOS upgrade) a 20 gig.

Thumbs up

Hi there,

Thanks very much for the info - I'll pass this on to the owner and see if he wants a 6 or 8 Gig drive.

Cheers,
Simon
