I am using an ext cd-rom drive to listen to audiio cd via speakers connected to the ext drive. The volume control plus the hardware volume knob doesnt seem to work.
The only way I could change volume is thru Multimedia properties. Is there any other way to change volume control? |

is there more than one 1/8" plug on the cd-rom - it sounds as if you are using the Line-out instead of the headphone jack for the headphones. The line out would not be adjustable via the hardware control knob - only the headphone jack would.
