Dell makes a great system. Just get the 3 year on site warranty with it, the warranty is what puts Dell above and beyond all the competitors.

I have a Dell Inspiron 5000 since sept 2000.
Business - professionnal use only.
Win2K pro + Office 2000
PIII mobile 600mhz
128m ram
20g hd
DVD
Floppy
AND THE 15.1in TFT

- simply put: the best machine I ever had.
- great support by DELL - phone or e-mail
Dont know about on site, they never had to come.

Recommandations:

If this is your primary business machine
and you are travelling a lot
- get a 2nd battry now
- treat yourself to the 15 in monitor.

I've had an Inspiron 8000 for about 10 months. I love it. I wish the geforce was available when I got mine.

I would recommend at least 256MB ram.

I have worked on a lot of notebooks and I definately recommend the Dell.
