[RESOLVED] Cdrom Memorex 48 X

I am trying to install a 48 X cdrom from Memorex on a win/95 o.s The cd/rom that was previously on the computer just stopped working for no apparent reason.
I have the memorex drivers. I mght try slaving the cd on the ribbon from the harddrive.
Any Ideas would be appreciated!

You shouldn't need drivers unless you need to access the drive in pure DOS. Boot to safe mode and remove the old cdrom from device manager. Look at config.sys and autoexec for any lines that point to the old drive. Also look for any yellow marks next to the IDE controllers in device man.
