    Post Help With Display error

    I have just encountered a very annoying problem with the Windows ME OS. When I try to get to my display settings it gives me an error message stating :
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program C:\Windows\Rundll32.exe
    abnormal program termination

    Any ideas or suggestions to fix this problem would help me alot thanks.

If it comes up clean, run SFC (system file checker), or if you have another pc with the same operating system you could try copying rundll32.exe from the good pc to the one you're having problems with.

    Ok, just got done doing some further digging...

    Go into your Control Panel and open up the Add/Remove Programs icon. Look for a program called Common Name Taskbar. If you see it in there, remove it and reboot and your problem should go away.

    If you don't see it in there, see previous post.

    No the problem is that SFC isn't on my computer at all, or at least I can't find it. I asked another person and he said it wasn't on Windows ME.
