Why would you want your connection to disconnect when you close IE? You might want to try looking under Tools/Internet Options and the Connections tab. Check the settings in there. Click on the setings for your dail-up adapter and then click advanced. I'm on Win2k right now (and on a LAN) but it looks like what your are looking for is there called "Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed"
Hope that helps

The option exists in DUN on the dialing tab when you check the properties of the connection - its at the bottom - ME got rid of the advanced in internet options when checking the settings of the connection - they put it in DUN.
