Question frozen screen

I am running an Athlon 750 Slot-A comp. with a Via KX-133 chipset. When I install my McAffee anti-virus software, all is fine until I reboot, then the computer hangs on the Windows 98 logo screen, and will not go any further...I have to restart in safe-mode and uninstall the software to get the computer to boot up normally... what is causing this? thanks

boot into command propmt mode and watch to see where it's locking up. If it gets to the prompt, boot into safe mode, and remove the mcaffe from the startup and reinstall it

i know Mcafee Product pretty good
What Stucked there is MPRexe.exe (Or something like that)
if you installed the Mcafee 4.5 Install SP1 for it (ftp://support.co.il/public/Antivirus/datfiles/Vsc45sp1.zip)

After this it will work fine!

Read more carefully, Spaz has already told us he has booted into safe mode and uninstalled McAfee.

Spaz. I had similar problems with that version of McAfee. Either switch to Norton AV 2001 or the newest version of McAfee.
