PC-Cillin
Should I buy it? Amazon.com has it for $39.99 and a $15 rebate now until 4-25.
Should I buy it or will I be fine with the online version (housecall.antivirus.com)?
Thanx!

I absolutely hate that program. I've had too many problems related to PC-Cillian. You do need some type of antivirus outside of housecall because housecall isn't always running. I would go with Norton or McCrappee for about the same price.

I used to use Norton programs all the time, until Norton System Works 2000 came out. That was so bad, I vowed never to use another norton program again (well, except Norton Commander...)

I think thats the thread I checked out for a free anti virus program, and I guess AVG is as good as anyone I can buy duw to all the recommendations I get.
Housecall would be good for a search & destroy misson, since AVG doesn't clean.
Thanx for the help..

Pc-cillin 2000 is very good, you get it free with pcchips bundled boards (yah I know, but...)
Housecall is fine, but it's not monitoring your email and downloads.
Macaffee needs to be sunk without trace
Norton misses stuff ocassionally, and for some reason gets turned off a lot by viruses.
I use PC-Cillin on two of my boxes and AVX - Central Command on the other two, but its new product Vexira or whatever its called I haven't tried.

Been my experience that avg works better than pc-cillin. AVG heals, and puts the rest in the virus vault.

Don't forget about Computer Associates eTrust EZ Anti-Virs software. EZ Anti-Virus is similar to Inoculate IT IPE, a small effective anti-virus program that is easy to use and configure while not taking over your PCs resources. Try the trial version or buy the software with a year of updates for $9.95 here: [URL=https://www1.my-etrust.com/commerce/buy.it]

I’ve been using PC-Cillin for several years now. I recommend it to others as an alternative to Norton’s Antivirus.
Speaking of PC-Cillin, anyone know of a way (besides the obvious –disable POP3 scan) to turn off the ever so annoying splash screen that pops –up everytime an email account is checked?
