    Post JDBGMGR.EXE Hoax

Anyone know how to replace this file (JDBGMGR.EXE) if someone actually falls for the hoax? I've had several people call in today that have done this. M$ Knowledge Base doesn't appear to have it on there. SARC refers me to M$. Thx!

You can (re)install updated version of Internet Explorer. That should do it.

It's in JAVABASE.CAB wherever IE came from, Win CD or IE disk, if not used to using EXTRACT on .CAB files, refer here:

I just got mailed from a potential business partner about this dangerous virus...

    Exclamation

I think you can also use SFC to replace it (surely, it depends on OS).

I carry the file around on a floppy for replacement during service calls, and I've emailed it to customers to put back on the machine.

Copy and paste the following URL for instructions on re-installing the Microsoft Virtual Machine, which puts back the file in question.

This is the MS recommended method of restoring the file, so take it for what it's worth.
