connecting laptop to domain network through shiva
I'm having problems with a 2000pro laptop i just got. I got a 98 machine at home that connects to my network using dial up networking. When it conncects it brings up a windows networking dialogue box and i put my username password in and can browse my network as if I were there. I cannot get it to work on windows 2000pro. I can dial into my shiva account and it logs in but no networking dialog comes up. i have also tried connecting on startup in the logon box but nothing. Any help would be apreciated.

Not sure about this one but you might go into your ras(Dial up) settings and check the radio button "bring up terminal window after connect" or something to that effect. I had a problem similar to that with win2K but the RAS was so long ago.....I forget.......
THANK GOD FOR SMALL FAVORS!

It has been a while since I used Shiva, but it might be in the VPN item in your Network and Dial-up Connections. If you have a VPN item for your connection, right click it in Network and Dial-up Connections, goto properties. Under Options, and the dialing options, there is a check mark for "Include Windows logon domain", and "Prompt for name and password, certificate, etc.". Be sure both have a check mark, and try it again.
If shiva does not create the vpn connection the way I presume it does, then disregard my guess...
