sygate networking problems
hello,
I am trying to share a cable modem between two PCs. The PCs can see each other on the lan, the PC with the cable modem can browse the net, but the other one cannot. MSN mesenger works on the second PC, but AOL IM and Yahoo IM do not. It cannot browse the net with IE or Netscape. They are both win 98. I beleive the problem is with Sygate home networking. I have never used it before, and am not sure it is configured correctly. I gave both machines static IP addresses, is that a problem? I am going to try DHCP, but i don't think it will work. Do I need to set up DNS on teh second PC? If so, what do I set it to. I know I am being very vague, sorry. please help.
Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs

if you want a good connection. Only for windows98 SE +
I would use the microsoft internet shareing. Its free is and fast. It comes on the windows 98SE cd. I do this at home with 98SE and win2000.
