    Question WinME and Win2000

I set up sharing on my new ME machine, so that a W2K machine will be able to share the printer. I can ping to both machines. When I try to install the printer for the machine, it does not see the share. what am I doing wrong?

Did you install the printer as a network printer or a local printer???

Man Have I seen this post way too many times. Win2k box: Have a user set up that either has rights to the printer or is part of a group that does. Then make sure that the Win ME/98/95 box is logged in as that user. If you have client for microsoft networks installed, you can have windows login as the defauld, as long as the user is logged in. IE: Create a user called "default" and have that as the user that is automatically logged in. You will have no trouble seeing printers or other shares. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

    LOL

I know what you mean. Almost enough to see about putting a small notice at the entrance to the forums
"If you are having trouble getting Win2K to talk to other Windows OS's, blah blah..

Now, if you have some other question, you may enter the forums by clicking here"
