    Post Serial port connection

Customer has an old laptop which needs win98 loaded on it. No cd-rom installed, hard disk is wiped clean. I know there is a way to share files via a serial connection in Win 9.x but how to do it from a Win 9.x machine to one running from a boot disk i have no clue. Any suggestions??

Laplink. The Win9X version will work as long as 1 box is Win9X and the other hard drive is formatted with the system files transferred to it.
    ( c:>sys c: )
    like dat. OR
Winzip spanned archive of Win 9X.

    Good luck,

oops, hit send too fast. You can also format HD, tran sys, then copy the oakcdrom.sys files and mscdex.exe. Then write your config.sys and autoexec.bat to point and start these and voi`la you have cd in DOS.
OR use a win98 start disk, startup with cdrom support, make a directory for win9x and copy the win9x to it, restart and type setup. Bang! You're there.
