Problem Using 2 Network Cards
I have 2 network cards in my computer (Realtek RTL8139 PCI & a Winbond W89C840 PCI, both are 10/100). The Realtek is used for my Roadrunner connection and the Winbond is used for internet connection sharing for my laptop. When the Winbond is enabled in device manager the computer takes twice as long to boot up and hesitates briefly when running any application or moving the mouse. When I disbale the Winbond NIC everything returns to normal. The computer is a PIII 866Mhz with a MSI motherboard. I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks in advance.

I am using Win98SE and I havent tried changing PCI slots yet. As of now it is sharing irq with the usb controller and the on board sound. Thanks for your help and I will try to move the card tonight.

Words of advice...
Realtek and Winbond arent making those cards, just the chipsets... AND are cheapie specials for like $5 at computer shows.
Advice to the wise...
Use namebrand nics with quality, IE Netgear/3Com/Intel... these nics dont have as many problems as the dollar store specials.
To answer your question now... advice is to go and get a realtek nic to replace the winbond one, it may be bad.
