Multiple Internet Connections
I am using Win98 SE and I am trying to find a way to use different network settings for home and work. At work we use static IP addresses and at home I use roadrunner. I was trying to use windows profiles to control these settings but everytime I change the ip address in one profile it also changes the other profile too. I want to be able to select the setting b4 windows comes up so I dont have to reboot everytime I want to use a different setting. Is there a way to make this work short of buying a program like multi network manager? Please help.

This should be very simple.
You shouldnt need to alter your network settings to dial up from home, as your network settings, and Dial up settings, are two different creatures. Just leave tcp/ip settings for your network card alone, as these will not effect the settings for your dial up networking, and you can set Internet Exploder up to dial a connection (or utilise a dial up network connection) when no LAN is available, under tools -> internet options -> connections.

Ok, so you have a DSL type link at home ( I didnt notice this in your first post, sorry)
I dont think there is anything really wrong with spending the two minutes, changing your settings, is there?
