i have a pcchip m598lmr motherboard and am trying to install a netcard (my system wont boot when the card is installed), i looked up the manual and downloaded it and it says to set a jumper to disable onboard netcard, then the other one will work but when i look at the motherboard , the jumper isnt there!!! can anyone help?? Id really appreciate it thanks!!

The pins aren't there or there is no jumper placed on the pins? X

i can see where the jumper is 'supposed' to be, but there are no actual pins .. i disabled the onboard lan in bio's and still nothing works .. ;(

i had a simalar problem with some on board video cards and the card manufactors said that even though the bios is set to disable that win9X can still find them. the solution ended up being to disable the onboard card in the device manager tab of windows. this seems to only happen with to devices though. also it is easier to disable it if you do not load the on board device drivers and leave it as a unknown device. hope this helps.

Yeah, and if that doesn't work, find the netcard on your motherboard and start jabbin' it with a screwdriver!! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
