Post data corruption

i'm just wondering what could possibly cause data corruption over a 4 computer LAN.
tcp/ip and netbeui are installed on all the computers...computers are connected to a linksys 4 port switch...zonealarm is installed but shutdown between systems transferring files (tried to copy files with ZA open and permissions set but got corruption so i closed it but still get corruption)...data corruption occurs on all systems no matter what system copies files...there doesn't seem to be any issue of collision or undo network broadcasting so i'm kind of stumped...all systems are running windows ME and systems vary in configuration from duron, pIII, PII, and celeron with varying amounts of memory all the nics are different but all are detected by the switch as 100mbs....tried different cables and other nics so i'm not sure what else to check...any input from you guys/girls would be appreciated...thanks

This sounds like you either have a bad switch or WinME is the culprit.

Try a different switch or hub.

Also, make sure you've unbound TCP/IP for Printer and File Sharing and are only using NetBEUI for that function. Having both bound to Printer and File Sharing may be causing an internal conflict between protocols in WinME. I've never seen this problem on Win9x, WinNT, or W2K peer-to-peer networks...
