Thin Ethernet Maximum Segment Length?

OK, trivial question that's really bugging me:

I took my A+ Exam last week, one question asked the maximum length of 10Base-2. Answers included 185m and 200m. I said 185m, which was marked as correct.

I took an exam today for my degree which asked exactly the same question, multiple-choice, like the A+, but 185m was not there as an answer. I said 200m, which is what our lecturer has been saying throughout the course is correct. Now which is the true correct answer?

It doesn't bother me that much, but it's something I'd like to know. I was always taught that 185m was the official maximum.

I've tried the IEEE's site, and couldn't find the answer. What I really need is some official site I can quote to whip this lecturer's *** with.

I did a google search and came up with both answers. In reality, the maximum length is approximate because there may be other factors involved that limit the length (magnetic fields, interference, etc) It's not likely that the exact maximum is a nice round number like 200.

But my personal opinion: who uses 10 base 2 these days, anyways? I hate the stuff!

We just went over that Tues. in my MS2151a class, the official MS Curriculum says 185m, for whatever that's worth....Ive never even seen 10base 2 except maybe in highschool......

My prof said it's not uncommon to hear 'them' round up to 200, but officially it's 185 and another guy in the class said he had a test where 200 was the closest choice so he took it and got it right....Go Figger......
