Networking with modems
I need to connect a PC to a NT4 server using a microwave link and modems.
How do I configure the modems to communicate with no dial tone or carrier

The modems will need a dial tone and carrier to function. What other options are open to you?

Thanks for replying
Basically I have two data wires at the server termination (the telephone socket is immaterial) and 2 data wires at the pc end.
All I need is to get these two communicating
The microwave link is just the same as a telephone link, but with no dial tone etc.

ah, I sorta see what you mean now.
We use Radio link to do this sort of thing, and it works wonderfully, unfortunately, I havent used microwave gear at all, but i still doubt the use of standard modems for the purpose.
Sorry I couldnt be of anymore help. Good luck dude.
