PGPnet?
I just bought PGP 7.0. Does anyone here use the PGPnet software that comes with it?
Is the PGP firewall any good? How about the intrusion detection?

I recently installed PGP-desktop-security (trial) but it brought my laptop to an end...
I have NT4 on it and a short while after the logon nothing moved anymore... I even couldn't do ANYTHING more... the only luck was to mount the disk at another NT-laptop, remove the program files I found... after this I was able to boot my old system, editing the registry to kill all PGP things and reinstalled the network drivers.
These network drivers, I suppose, could be responsible for my problem, as I allowed PGP to secure my NetworkAdapters and from the docs I read that it sticks between TCP/IP and the physical adapter... so it can get full control over the Net...
I was unlucky... perhaps you have a better chance, but I won't retry

At first, I couldn't get any network stuff to function after activating PGPnet, but I discovered if you set the VPN to "allow" instead of "request" or "require", things returned to more-or-less normal. Everything is noticably slower with it PGPnet enabled, so I doubt if I'll use it unless I have to.
