Question Can't see CDROM drive in Win Explorer

It shows up everywhere else and winds up when i put a cd in. There are no conflicts in system manager and it works fine when i boot up a floppy with cdrom support.

    HELP!!!

is it running in compatibility mode or enhanced mode? Go to control panel, system, performance, to get this info.

I am having a similar problem with my cd-rom not showing up. I checked the performance tab in the device manager and I am running in comatability mode.

If you are running in compatibility mode...either 1) you have an incompatible DOS CD driver in your config.sys. 2) You have a virus on your system. 3) the HD controller driver installed in Windows is corrupted or not installed properly.

    Thumbs up

Thanks, it was the buffer size. Under CPL/system/CDROM i moved the slider to max and it fixed it. My hunch is that a tweak app that i had removed left it at the "small" setting.
