    Unhappy shadered disk in cdrom!

    sure made me jump <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> anyone have this happend?should i just buy a new one? or can it be trusted after it is cleaned out?

    This happens on rare occasions, it's because of a tiny flaw in the CD that gets hit by the laser and overheats. The good news is that if you clean the CDROM well, it should be just fine. Freaked me out when it happened to me too!!!

    thanks for the reply W C .well we`ll clean her up and see what happens .did you remove the cover off of the cdrom and blow it out? asus-52-x,
