Angry Burning problems with easy cd and XP.

Hi, I have roxio easy cd creator platinum on windows XP pro.
    Here is what happens.

When I try to burn anything in easy cd creator program, I get the error, “WARNING: Reservation conflict. This drive cannot be used because its already being used by “Roxio DirectCD Kernel”. Does anyone know why there is a conflict with easy cd creator and DirectCD? They are from the same software.

This happens after I select the data I want to put into my CD.

So I tried to end process of DirectCD and it would only let me burn “by track”. So I was able to and it started burning. Now, it is stuck at 92% complete for an hour now. So I hit cancel and still the window is stuck. I know it is no longer burning anything because my burner’s red recording light is no longer flashing for an hour.

Any advice to this? Or is my burner gone bad?

    Thnx for any help.
