[RESOLVED] Adaptic Burner and Windows ME
I received a computer that had win95 on it. It had a cd-rom and and adaptic burner running directcd software. The cdrom and burner show up when you boot the system. They both show up in the bios. In the win device manager, only the cd-rom shows up. under the cdrom controls the primery ide control shows fine but the secondary master has a yellow exclaimation mark. It can not be removed. It is connected to another program. Anyone have any suggestions. I have already checked the manufactures sites, and checked the jumber settings.

Use Regedit find open the tree
+Hkey_Local_Machine
+Enum
+Scsi
Deleted all the entries in that folder & reboot your machine. That will remove all the IDE Child devices and let Windows rebuild it on reboot. If that still dosen't correct it check to see what other devices are conflicting with it.

If you try re-starting in Safe-Mode, and then check the hardware profile list, you'll probably see other versions of your drive installed. Delete them all and re-boot. When it's up, it'll find the drive and install it properly.

If all else fails you could delete the pci bus after this the system will try to reinstall every device on the system (including the ide controllers) careful with this fix though you could be trading one problem for another
