[RESOLVED] Audio Recording

I have burnt a number of audio cd's and there is a noise in the back round abit like static is there anyway of stopping this, or is there anyother generic s/w for burning that will not do this. I have tried other CD's, differnt maufac, and differnt burners but I still get the noise on some tracks.

How are you trying to burn audio CDs ?? Are you trying to go frm an mp3 file straight to an audio CD, or, are you converting to a wav file first ?? If not, you might try doing that. Adaptec's Easy CD Creator has a utility to convert the mp3 files to wav files, and filter out pops, hisses, and adjust the loudness. You can then listen to the wav file, and see it it is OK.

Also check how you are doing it - if you are doing a direct analog write - check your audio cable and make sure that the cable is not recieving interfearence. Also check your source files and make sure that they too are noise free. Check www.sharewaremusicmachine.com for more utils to remove sound and burn audio cd's

I had the same problem when I burned audio cd at multiple speed, and when I read then in some old audio cd player (car) there where some noises.
Try to burn at 1X.

Actually Burning Audio CD's at 1x is bad.
most CD-R burneres can't burn well in this speed. 2x is much better.
also make sure you're using "Disc at once" and not "track by track".

Other possibilites is to Upgrade the Firmware of the CD-R (Yamaha and S&F SCSI Burneres had this problem)

I'm burning wav to wav onto an audio cd and my burn is now only working at 1x for some known reason. It works at the higher speeds on another PC so I rebuilt my PC and the same results. Could the software be the problem???

1. Try Nero http://www.ahead.de

2. Try Disabling UDMA Support for the CD-RW channel (in BIOS)

3. Did you try a firmware update like I suggested ?

4. Try Putting the CD-RW as Secondary Master and use a 40-pin IDE Cable.

Works fine as an external but not internal so I'm just going to try all again later after I have rebuilt the machine. The machine has been a pain since it was bought!!!!
