they're really not bad tires for the price. I have four on my fiances car. The four tires, valve stems, balancing, rotation, etc plus a free 4 wheel alignment was only $180. Plus they came with pro-rated road hazzard, free rotation and flat repair during the life of the tire.
They've been great so far. When my car needs tires I'm definately going back there. I'm all about ECONOMICAL solutions!

The Kia's definitely had some major problems when they first came out. However they are starting to get ironed out now, and their new Sedona Minivan is probably the most reliable minivan on the market. Which puts Chrysler to shame since they have been making minivans for 20 years and haven't got it right yet.
Back on the topic of tire shopping, my wife and I recently purchased a new car that had all seasons, but we agreed that we should have good snow tires. So we went to the tire shop, and the salesguy showed us that the cheaper tires use a rubber that can be quite oily, that is definitely not a good thing to have on your tire! Running my finder through the treads of a cheap Hercules tire was really gross. The Goodyear on the other hand, uses a silica blend in the tire compound to eliminate the oilyness.
We took the Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice tires and couldn't be happier with them.

I didn't get it because I had heard the pronounciation COOMO when I bought the tires. I guess if I just saw it without knowing how it was pronounced I would have chuckled too.

I use hoosier street slicks in the summer, and then I put on a set of Nokian Hakka snowtires for winter.

Just what the heck are seasonal tires? What the heck are seasons? Here is Houston we hot, humid and not raining, hot, damn humid and raining, not as hot, humid and not raining, or not as hot, damn humid, and raining. Are those the four seasons you speak of?

Up here the four seasons are early winter, deep winter, late winter and road construction.
And believe me, seasonal tires are a NECESSITY. Try using a "road construction" tire during deep winter and you will spin yourself four tiny, perfectly smooth mouse-sized hockey rinks in your driveway... but you won't get to work, my friend...
Edit: If I include the words "poutine", "Eh?", and "I'm sorry", this will officially be the most Canadian post Windrivers has ever seen.
Flash! Don't heckle the supervillain!
