It seems that whenever I use file search, the system bogs down. Task Manager shows system using up to 98% cpu. Anyone else have this problem? .......... thanks....d

I'm not having any problems like that but hit CTRL ALT delete to see alll the Programs running and cancel some and try again.
Download tweak XP too. It's a great utility to free up resources.

thanks danimal but tweak xp doesn't help. this is happening on my 2 machines even when they're not networked. i'm hoping someone has experienced and found a solution for this problem. event viewer does not show anything helpful...thanks...d

It's probably the damm dog!!!!... haha.... seriously though.... might want to search thescreensavers.com as they did a thing last week on how to kill the dog and make your search box look like a Pc. and not some childs toy!!
