I haven't worked with XP very much so is it possible to make a boot floppy from WindowsXP without jumping through hoops?

not hard to make one at all. Just goto my computer and right click on floppy drive and then on format ...then it will give you option to create boot disk there.

You can also use the Windows XP cd and boot from that. Also, try http://www.bootdisk.com/
You can also go into the Backup program in your System Tools folder, and run the Automated System Recovery option which will make a boot disk for you. |

I think you will find that it takes 6 floppy discs to make a XP floppy boot set. And the Home Set is different to the Pro set.
