You say "New to XP" so do you know how to use explorer in say Windows 95 or 98. The concept is the same. Easy way to get to explorer is Right Click on my computer and choose explore(If you can't see my computer you can either make it appear by going to Display properties and choosing it to appear, sorry maybe someone will post exacts for this but if you click around you should find-I am not in front of an XP machine). Or you can goto start->programs and I believe explorer is in accesories.
From there on the left hand side will be objects and folders with pluses next to them. You then just hit the pluses next to the path you want: so hit + next to C: then + next to Program files, etc. You can then highlight right before the specified deleted folder and then delete. I take it you are following the exact instructions provided by NAV. So they probably told you to go through Add/Remove programs and then remove the folders that weren't removed?
All in all the basic answer is as long as you have the rights explorer should be basically the same as Windows 9x.

Ok, those links didn't work, the URL's must be to long or something.
Instead, goto http://www.symantec.com/techsupp/enterprise/ and select a product, and version, then goto the Knowledge base, and plug in "How to reinstall", and check out the articles that come up. You may need to refine the search, but once you get the hang of it, I am sure you will find the answer you are looking for.

I think I understand what you're asking. Don't delete the folders. Just run the uninstall program. If you want to delete something delete MS Messenger. I hate that thing.
