Post WinXp and the ATI RADEON 64MB Open GL issue

I just got the full version of win xp pro from the microsoft road show (God bless them ) and anyways, I have the ATI Radeon 64mb DDR AGP video card, now whenever I try to play something that needs open GL, like half life, it says my hardware does not support it. I assume this is because there is no "official" driver for win xp yet and that card. Am I correct in saying that? Even though win xp did find the driver right away and recognized the card. I am hoping that within a month or so there will be a fix for this. Playing half life TFC or Counterstrike without open GL support is just a tad laggy.

Download the latest Beta Radeon drivers from ATI and the OpenGL issue is fixed. The XP default Radeon driver is severely crippled, is forced to run at a maximum of AGP2X and 3D acceleration is handicapped a lot by the driver supplied. I installed the latest Win2K Beta for the Radeon I have on XP and everything is flying now. Make sure that it is the Beta and not teh Public drivers as the public drivers do not function correctly and video corruption on the desktop & start menu will occur.

I know they have 2 places on the ATI website for the drivers, the retail drivers and specialty drivers section. So is it the driver in the retail drivers section?

That is the one you are talking about I believe, if not, I'll have to look some more and try to find it.
