Post This can't be good...

i flashed my bios to the latest version (i have a gigabyte ga-6rx with 2x40gig hdds in raid 0 array) and now xp pro comes up with unmountable_boot_drive (or the likes) and then stops.

ive tried reinstallaling, but the RAID array has gone awol. i tried everything (including remaking the raid array), and nothing.

however, dos sees the raid drive fine. is the only solution here gonna be install 98, then upgrade to xp from within windows?

When installing, at the press F6 to install your raid driver or XP and 2K will not detect your array. XP has a couple of drivers but if your card is moded in any way you need to do this.

Oh well, looks like Micro$oft is dominating...again !

tried that already. perhaps its a driver issue with the new bios. i should try flashing it back using the second bios.

Cool

I had a very similar thing with the most recent WinXP release. What I had was a mirroring array that wouldnt work under XP during an install. So I had to plug in only one hard drive on my IDE port (the RAID was an onboard IDE array) and install XP as if I only had one drive. After I installed XP and installed all the drivers for my RAID controller, I rebuilt the array and it works fine now.

Let us know how you come out!

ok, so the ****s really gonna hit the fan here: it doesnt work under win2k either. just comes up with kernel errors when it gets to the point where it should give u the list of partitions. ive tried everything i can think of, and everything that sbeen suggested. i guess i better aquire another hdd, to try installing xp on that instaid of on my raid.
