Post No Sound from SB Pro

I recently installed XP RC1 onto my work PC which has a Soundblaster Pro 2 card installed. Windows failed to detect this card and install any drivers. I have tried to manually add the hardware, but wasn't able to find any SB Pro drivers with XP, only Soundblaster 16/32 drivers. I have tried these drivers and although the device manager isn't reporting any errors or conflicts, it is still failing. When trying to playback Audio from Winamp or Media Player, the application just locks. According to the Creative website, suppoort for this soundcard should be included with XP, am I just looking in the wrong place for it, or am I using the right driver already?

SBPro, wow that is an old card - but a darn fine one even today. I had one of those in my 486SX25. I'm frankly surprised that XP would have any support for a card that old!

Are you sure it is a sound blaster Pro?

Yes it definately it a Soundblaster Pro, I had it running in my NT machine before going to XP. According to the list of supported devices from Microsoft though I think I may have lucked out. It's strange that Creative would list it as a supported device on their web site though: http://www.soundblaster.com/support/winxp/ I think I have an old ESS card somewhere I'll have to throw in instead, I can't handle not being able to listen to my MP3's at work Cheers guys.
