i Have a big problem with my sb live! In xp every time a play mp3's when my hard disk plays in the background it makes noice.i 'd tried: 1.change the irq to 5 and slot 1 and 3 also 2.i install the 4 in 1 packs of via 3.i updated my bios 4.i reduce the hardware accelaration of my card by shoftware The only thing that works was when i disable the vga irq assinment from bios.Then i had no problems with my sound but windows couldn't find my vga. my system is:Shoyo 5hm, amd k6 2 400, 128/ram hdd wd 10.2, riva tnt 2 m64 Help!!!!!!!!! |

hmm thats weird .. have you tried putting the card in a lower/higher pci slot .. mines just above my modem .. and my sb live doesnt have a single problem and i also have my bios set to plug and play OS to off .. even though winxp is ..

Unfortunately i have tried all the pci slots and i also use the same winamp but there was no diference!

Is the soundcard sharing an IRQ? Use Bios to allocate it to IRQ 5 no matter what plug & pray wants it to do!

My sound card is already in irq 5 and there is no irq sharing....
