    Post Soldier Of Fortune Won't Play

    hey..

    i just installed win xp.my video card is nvidia's tnt 64, and i installed the latest 16.30 driver.

    i installed Soldier Of Fortune and i tried to play the game...

    The Problem is that i get a black screen for a few seconds and than i'm thrown back to the desktop !!!!!!

    Please Help...I Love This Game...

    grab the latest detonator driver for xp. that should do it. SOF runs just fine on my xp box with that driver.

    do you mean the latest 2x.xx serie driver ?

    will that do the trick ?

    Try dropping the refresh rate of your monitor and see if that cures it.(Try default)

    Sometimes the default game settings can be too high for the vid card/monitor to handle.

    If this allows you to get to the settings page you can then lower it and return your monitor settings to whatever they were before.

    hi

    i have soldier of fortune but i didnt install it yet. but i do have the same exact video card as you.

    when i use to have win2k it worked fine now i have winxp pro. im going to install it when i get home and see if it works ok. i also have the latest drivers

    i really don't get it....

    i lowered the refresh rate to 75hz 800*600.

    i installed the 23.11 driver and still i'm

    thrown back to the desktop !!

    Please Help ..!!

    this will sound like a dumb question but


    is this a legit copy you purchased or a pirated version.

    many times the same thing happens with pirated versions.

    (note to all: i do not promote pirated games. they are wrong and for cheap people, also its ILLEGAL!!!!)

    not a dumb question at all...but non the less not a relevant one because the same cd installs and runs just fine on another computer...so..i don't think this is the problem..

    is the other computer also windowsXP?

    i have the game too but i havent installed it yet. im still at work

    but when i use to have win2k it ran fine.
