Post Xbox, how good?

Well I Got $100 from my dads work to make a asp script that emails information that you fill out from the forms. Im thinking about buying a Xbox, what do you all think about it?

I know PS2 is tight and all, but its slow and jumpy. The one thing about getting a Xbox is how good the games will be in the future and will there be alot?

With $100 towards the xbox $200 is nothing.

What do you all think?

XBOX good XBOX bad?

If you answered yes to any of these then you are not qualified to own a new AMD ATHLON XP.
If someone ask you if you are running the all-new fastest AMD ATHLON XP, just turn around and reply "WHY YES, AND ITS CERTIFIED"

I've got both....PS2 last year and Xbox this year. I got GTA3(PS2) and I've played it twice since I got Halo for the Xbox. There really is no comparison. Xbox all the way. The fact that there is a HD in the machine as well as a NIC means that you have a great base for online gaming without additional expense. I also LOVE the fact that you can rip CDs to the HD and listen to your own music while you play your games.

My machine does that too and it also has a thingy where you can upgrade the graphics.

It's called a PC

But if it's between one and the other get XBOX i agree.

That’s true, but the PS2 has the ability to put in a hdd, it just doesn’t come with one, and the PS2 has 2 usb ports and one ilink 1394 port - But even beside all that, no gaming system can beat the amount and the variety of games the PS2 offers, not only will the PS2 have more games then the xbox, but you can play any original Play Station game on it as well. The PS2 is the much better buy. good luck with what ever you go with

Too bad the PS2 cost the same as the Xbox, and the "supposed" hard drive/nic thingee is still vaporware. Of the two, the Xbox is the only one that can output 480p, 720p or 1080i for those of us with HDTVs. The Xbox can also do real-time Dolby Digital. Of the games released for both platforms, the Xbox versions are far and away the best. Take MGS2, you might have to wait a little longer for it, but the Xbox version will look better and be the full game it was intended instead of the rush job that the PS2 got. The Xbox's DVD playback is also superior to the PS2. Of the two consoles, the Xbox is the only one that you can play online with right now. Just so you know I have both consoles, and my PS2 is gathering dust. I play my DC more than my PS2 right now. As for backwards compatibility, the PS2 does next to nothing to enhance the loading speed or the graphics of the PS games. GT2 looks better on my DC than on the PS2. In short, get the Xbox, or the Gamecube if you're into Pokemon.

The two people I've know to get the XBox have returned them. I also have a friend that works at Toys R Us and they get a lot of XBox returns according to her.

I don't like that fact that the xbox is $299 with only game controller and no game from my understanding. Not to mention you have to buy a remote controll to use the dvd function of it from what I've been told. To me thats like buying a expensive car, and having to buy two back wheels, and the engine.

Microsoft I belive stated they will have 150 games out by next December. But they also said XP was the most secure OS. So who knows.

Well I got a Xbox since I have 2 friends with PS2 it would be cool to have a Xbox in.

Well its fast and looks very nice. Has a NIC in it wow.

CONS:
BIG BIG BIG
heavy. Needs more games
M$ product

Other than that it rocks

Buy a GayCube. Yea, it's Nintendo, but they're going to have all the great games comming out. The Xbox really dosn't have anything out worth buying other than Halo, and the Xbos still has yet to take full advantage of their hardware. Maybe someday in the future, but it's definatly not worth purchasing yet. The GayCube will have all the Resident Evil games, a few new Mario games, A new StarFox, a new Metroid, Zelda series, Wrestlemanina, the full Metal Gear Solid 2, not to mention the games that are already out. It's also cheaper, meaning you can buy more games.
