Angry Code 10 IDE controller (dual fifo) problem

Recently my CDrom has stopped working under Windows98, but continues to work in DOS. When I pull up my system info it gives me code 10 for both my primary and secondary IDE controllers (dual fifo). Code 10 being The device is not present not working properly or does not have all the drivers installed for it message. I would like help from anyone who can tell me how to fix this problem and make the thing work under windows as well as DOS. And if your answer is to install new drivers I would like someone to please tell me how to identify the maker of my controllers so I can download the corresponding drivers. BTW: If it helps to know this at all, my CDrom is slave to the HD. It's not plugged into the secondary IDE thingy. If anyone canhelp me I would greaty apprecaite it. Thank you.

Windows might have detected some sort of incompatibility between your IDE controller and Win98's 32-bit drivers. Search the registry for "noide". If you find this key, delete it and reboot. Win98 should load it's 32-bit drivers for your IDE controller and the device manager flags should go away (and hopefully your CD-ROM drive will work).
