    Angry Scsi problems

I have a Digital 5000 that has a adaptec 2940uw with a neccdrom 1610a have downloaded the driver and install have added the following lines Device=c:\scsi aspidos.sys and device=c:scsi\aspicd.sys/d:cdrom to config
and mscdex/D:cdrom to autoexec. but still no cdrom detected can only work out of dos and win3.1

Check your slave/master jumper on your cd-rom. that was the problem with mine. someone put 2 jumpers in it, when only 1 was needed.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!
Read the question, he said scsi.

    Master/Slave. Hah!

My question to you is do you have a scsi hard drive working on this card? Or any other scsi device? If not, then you shouldn't overlook the possibility it is either a bad scsi card or the I/o settings interfere with something else in your computer.

If you do have other devices running off this card, then you may want to try changing the scsi id on the cdrom (check your manual, or the manufacturers homepage for jumper settings). It may be using the same ID as another scsi device.

What do you mean that it is not detected, but it works with dos and windows??? This is sort of a contradictory statement, and was probably put in the post in error, but just in case, IF IT WORKS IN DOS AND WINDOWS, YOU HAVE NO PROBLEM

E-mail me if you have anymore questions.

    Bill
