    desktop icons

    I can't drag my desktop icons, I'm using XP home. They will move if you do the autoarrange but thats it. When you right click they desktop is not locked. Any ideas why this is locked?

    are they set to "auto arrange"? or is that what you mean by "locked"

    personaly, i don't have ANY icons on my desktops. they distract me from that nice blue screen.

    It is not set to autoarrange, the icons will move if you autoarrange, but I would like to drag and drop them. It seems as if the desktop is locked and I can not find a way to unlock it. When you right click the desktop and go to the arrange icons it shows that it is unlocked there.
