    Arrow Using SoftFSB or CPUFSB

I have tried both of these in my machine, to tweak the FSB speed, but despite claims that SoftFSB in particular will work with my mobo, it doesn't!

I have an Athlon Tbird 900 Slot A in an MSI 6167 with BIOS Ver 1.6. All works swimmingly, never had any lock ups at all.

I set SoftFSB 1.7f using the correct ICS chip, and it says that the new FSB has been set, to say 120 MHz, but the processor speed remains 898.25 MHz.
No change takes effect, and all stays at 900 MHz, no lock ups or error messages at all.

Is it all a big con? Am I the victim of a hoax with this prog?

Has anyone had a good experience with these FSB changing progs?

I am an experienced IT chap, and have even over clocked my Compaq Laptop from 400 the 600 MHz, changed the processor, and much more than the "allowable " memory into it as well.

If anyone can help with pointing me in the direction of getting at least some sort of result with this, please post a reply and let me know!

    Many thanx

The boards have been through many upgrades and as is usual long time dormant accounts were tidied up. It's nothing personal.. If you were particularly fond of your screen name before you can email [email protected] to see if the account is still accessible.

As for your fsb prob... no idea (I don't o/c - is bad for the wallet )
