Save The Geeks - adept's Report
As some of you may have noticed, I'm currently shopping for some new hardware to upgrade my personal system into the AthlonXP world.
I've sold off some older laptops I had lying around which weren't crucial to me, and can modestly invest for a system with more "bang".
So I've requested that I be removed from the current "needy geek" status at Save The Geeks and would like to report the following.
===============================
I think I've got a proper inventory of everything I've received through Save The Geeks and otherwise.
Here goes:
From Garak:- ECS D6VAA motherboard (dual CPU capable)
- Celeron 700 CPU
I'm especially touched by Garak's gesture as I know that he could have still profited from these parts - and probably could have used the money too. Thanks to my overseas friend.
From DocPC:- Radeon 7000/VE 32Mb DDR (W00t!)
- 2x ATI Rage Pro (1 Turbo) AGP graphics cards
- Sound Blaster PCI512
- Sound Blaster PCI128
- 3Com 3C905b-TX NIC
- 2x Sound Blaster microphones
- 2x power cords
I hope I'm not forgetting anything, DocPC! Please correct me if I did - I just lost track of my hardware when my wife cleaned our office, as I never got around to doing it myself.
DocPC was the first, and only WinDrivers member so far, who contributed directly through Save the Geeks.
===============================
Thank you all, not only for the donations, but especially for your participation, involvement, and sympathy.
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. -Douglas Adams

I think I might have either a slot 1 PII 300 or a celeron 266 that I don't need...I'll have to dig around through the old spare parts box.
*edit*
I guess I could have just pulled out the box and looked before posting...I do have an extra processor sitting around, it's a PII 266 but I don't have a fan for it.
Mr. Parts gatherer, please add it to your list.

ok I have a P4 1.4ghz that needs a socket 423 mainboard to test it. (not sure if its good or not). If someone would like to test it to See if its good I can ship it to them if its good or bad they don't have to ship it back.

Hmmm.....don't know about anyone else, but I'd almost be willing to go buy a board to test it.
