    Question Multiple OS network

    Greetings,

Anyone know of a good way to get Windows 98, XP pro, and MacOS 9 all talking together nicely? I need basic secure file sharing or a shared LAN. Much thanks.

Do you have a router or a hub or a switch or what?

XP likes to be in charge... so let it!

Have you got network adapters and do you need to share the internet connection?

What do you mean by "secure" file sharing?

Everything is in place, I am just looking for a better way of sharing files than shared folders and hidden directories. The building I am in has a couple different offices so I need a better way to share stuff and not have people going through our files or infecting my machines with their viruses (I can’t believe people still don’t scan their machines). XP works great with the other XP machines, but not the 98 machines. I would also like to get some Macs back on the network.

    Thanks

Turn off simple file sharing in XP - create proper logins and set permissions on a folder by folder basis...and require passwords for sharing in 98... I dont know macs so I cant help there.

Get a W2K server machine and make it a file server.
