view all workgroups?
Does anyone know how to (or a program that will) view all the workgroups on a network? I am on a Uni LAN. My mate with Windows 2000 can view everything, but my XP Home PC will not allow it, and only shows MSHOME which is my workgroup. Even that is less than complete with usually only me in it.
One other thing, can you password folders in XP Home for sharing with only specific people you want to?

if you go to my network places click view workgroup computers, then on the left, other places, click microsoft windows network, the workgroups should all show up there... having said that, I use xp pro, it may not work with XP home.

If you want to setup more advanced sharing in xp, you need to remove simple file sharing, this way you can assign each user exact access they have per share, and add passwords. To turn off simple file sharing i think it is under system properties, i don't remeber off hand but once i get home i will give you a better answer, hope this helps! Also make sure you run the network setup wizard on all pc's not xp for them to see the xp box, xp has a new network file system that needs to load files to update non xp boxes otherwise you will have issues....

I don't think you can turn off simple file sharing in XP Home normally.
