    Post Maxtor 40GB ATA/100 Drive

I have a Maxtor 40GB ATA/100 drive and the MaxBlast software saidd my BIOS is not compatible with the drive and installed EZ BIOS. The maxtor help files say that newer BIOS's use a slightly different LBA but the drive should still work.

If I reformat my drive can I format it in NTFS (currently FAT32) and not use the EZ BIOS?

    Thanks

Only if the Motherboard BIOS properly recognizes the whole drive.

Check the motherboards webpage for the most current bios version. Install it and then try to auto id the drive again in bios. If it see's it ok then you have to remove the EZ-BIOS and reformat the drive. Reformating does not always remove EZ-BIOS.
