Question lexmark - printing over the network

    Hi, everybody!

I just installed a new lexmark printer, and, when I boot the computer, I get an error message:

Lmpdpsrv had an error in <unknown>
    Lmpdpsrv will be closed.
If this problem persists try restarting your computer...

Then (I think, because of this) I am not able to print on that printer of the network from another box - the print job briefly appears in the status window, then the printer moves its head, as if it was going to start, but doesn't print anything, and then the print job disappears, and nothing gets printed.

I am using Windows ME, and the printer is Lexmark X125...

I somebody could gove me a clue what the hell is wrong here, I'd greatly appreciate that!

    Thanks a lot!

    Dima

Go here for latest drivers for your Lexmark X125. Looks like they have one that might be more recent than what came with the unit.

Go here for publications related to your X125. It has step-by-step procedures on installing drivers, software, etc. Are you following the same steps or do you have something different?

As a last resort, you could try emailing their Tech Support. They are usually pretty good at responding within a day or so.

Good Luck and let us know how it all ends up. We might all learn something.

I already got it from there... It had the same date that came with my CD, but I installed it anyway... Same thing :-(

It doesn't really have that much - just "insert the CD and click next" :-)
    That's what I did, yes...

Did that yesterday.... Still no reply

Thanks! If you have any other ideas, I'd appreciate that... Frankly, I suspect the problem is not with that lmpdpsrv thing (whatever that is), but with some windoze driver it uses, that I have out of date or something... But I have no idea where to start... I tried "Windows Update" - it downloaded a whole bunch of stuff, but did not seem to improve anything :-(

I am getting desperate here.... :-(

    Thanks for your help!

    Nope

    Nope.

I don't have it (at least according to the search for 'newdot*')

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks!

have you run spybot? install it and then immediately go to the online section and update it... then run the search and destroy.
