    Exclamation PCI Serial Bus Controller

Hope one of you clever people can help.
I recently installed a new Maxtor hard drive in my pc due to the old drive dying. I have a pentium 2 350 from sight and sound
All works ok apart from my Rockwell modem. I have checked the modem driver and installed latest addition. But i have this unknown device PCI Serial Bus Controller that it keeps asking for a driver to install. I have looked through w98 disk and everthing supplied but can't find anything that will help. Any ideas ?

    Dave,
Remove the PCI Serial Bus Controller and any installed modem from the device manager. Then reboot your system. During Windows startup, you'll receive a message saying about new hardware. Put the CD which contains the Driver in, and give the path. 99% chances the modem will work and you won't have any unknown device on the device manager.

    Good luck.

AlienDyne is right but made an assumption you might not be clear on. The PCI Serial Bus Controller is part of your modem. The driver disk you need to use is the disk that came with the modem.
