Windows Media Encoder + ATI Tv Prob, WIN2k3

    Hey there,
Today when I went to set up the streaming video, I go to download drivers for the AT TV Wonder VE, I could not find any to support win2k3 on their website, so I found some universal drivers, nevertheless, When I open windows media encoder and try to encode it, when its finally set up, all it can see is blue, or as if there is a device there, but it cannot capture from it. It know there is a camera switcher, but it cannot capture from it, giving me a blue screen capture... Does anyone know if any other universal drivers, or drivers made for win2k3, or a way to fix this..
    Thanks in advance..
    Matt

I'm probably going to confuse the matter more now and tell you info on something that has nothing to do with this, but I had a similar problem trying to capture from my tv card, a lifeview flyvideo 98.... if you know how these things work (well the basics anyway) you'll know about the crossbar - a "device" which switches between the different sources. the crossbar sounds like it's set to the wrong source right now, so either try and find an option in window media, or load up a tv proggie, change it to the source you want, then close it and hopefully it'll save the setting for the next program.

Sorry if this doesnt help you bud, just an idea.

Smile Well welcome to WD !

Err umm what's wrong with the ATI driver page then (pressuming you meant ATI ? you typed AT ?) ... I can find w2k drivers without any problems for that (pick o/s as w2k, then multimedia - pick your product !)...

'Generic' drivers are unlikely to do the job, but why use them anyway, when it appears as if there are 'exact' drivers available ?

Just an FYI - My TV wonder VE was in my server for about 3 seconds when I found out that ATI didn't seem to have drivers for any version of server, NT, 2000 or 2003. I assume you mean Windows server 2003 when you say 2k3.

What universal drivers are you using and where did you get them? I have found getting the TV wonder running with the correct drivers difficult enough without throwing unsupported drivers into the mix.

When say you are trying to open the encoder do you mean you are trying to watch TV or you are trying to record using windows media as the recording format?

why are you capturing video on a server??? you are causing more problems for yourself...if you want to capture video and edit keep it simple and use a workstation os... 98/2k/xp
