If you had to dual boot two flavours of linux

If you had to dual boot two flavours of linux, what would they be? How would you do it? Which order would you install them in and why did you make those choices?

Hmmmm

Mint Chocolate Chip and Coffee would be my two choices for a minty wake you up sorta flavor.

Oh wait Linux! OK I got ya. I was distracted by flavors there for a second.

I have been liking the heck out of Mandrake 9.1 lately due to it's control center where you can actually do stuff, which is a novel concept apparently. I changed over from Redhat 7.2 which worked well enough.

Second choice would be a Knoppix distrobution such as Knoppix STD for the security tools built in which are helpfull for a network tech/admin.

not technically a dualboot, but those are my two areas of need for Linux. Mandrake for home and play and Knoppix STD for work.

Well I would boot Slackware Linux cause its my favorite Distro and humm maybe Redhat

Id install slackware first with the following (120GB HDD)

Swap - partition 1 800 mb
/boot - 200MB
/ - 59 GB

install slackware setup lilo then Id go ahead and install redhat linux

(you could reuse the same swap as slackware but there maybe some problems)
so Id do the same configureation with Redhat

Swap - partition 1 800 mb
/boot - 200MB
/ - 59 GB

and redhat should auto detect slackware and put it in the lilo conf if not then after install boot into redhat and edit the lilo.conf file and put in the slackware partiton to boot from

I've had alot of trouble with the new Linux Distros.

Try QNX Neutrino http://www.qnx.com/eval/ it is very good and runs most Linux apps with a recompile as well.

I think my favorite Linux is Mandrake.

Mandrake 9.1 and Redhat 8.0

I like those two. They make me happie. Very happie. Mandrake first of course because it makes me a lot happier. Mostly because it opens RPM files without the command line.

Mandrake: built around the stable Red Hat kernel, but more "userfriendly" IMO.
FreeBSD: to explore all the security options it has.

I would probably run gentoo and RH9, i would be more likely to run gentoo and XP as my home and work computers are set up.

its a debian based, dont like rpm or debian based distros

Fedora Core (whatever they are at now) just cause it's so freakin' popular. I would install this one first on a 10-20gb partition.

Then I would install Gentoo. Follow the handbood and just create the proper grub entry and your set.
